The Software Development Office at Cyprus International University (CIU) is a dedicated team of skilled full-stack developers and high-performing programmers responsible for developing, managing, and continuously enhancing over 30 digital systems across the university. Our systems streamline academic and administrative processes, ensuring every user—students, faculty, staff, and global partners—has access to reliable, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.

As a core unit of CIU, we embody the university’s vision of a Digital Campus, playing a pivotal role in its transformation into a connected, technology-driven institution. Our development culture thrives on mutual support, self-motivation, and voluntary problem-solving. Each task undergoes a rigorous code review process: a peer review followed by final approval by the unit coordinator, adhering to our specific GitLab rules and a thorough review checklist. This meticulous approach ensures robust, high-quality solutions.

Student Information System (SIS)

The Student Information System (SIS) at Cyprus International University (CIU) is a comprehensive, web-based platform that serves as a cornerstone of the university’s operations. SIS goes beyond academic management. It empowers students to carry out most of their student services online, from handling administrative tasks to engaging with the university’s vibrant campus life. For academic staff, SIS provides robust tools to support teaching and administrative efficiency, while administrative units such as the Rectorate and Student Services rely on its centralized framework to manage their core operations effectively.

Human Resources System (HR)

The Human Resources (HR) System at Cyprus International University (CIU) is a sophisticated platform designed to streamline HR processes and enhance administrative efficiency across all departments. By centralizing key functions, the system ensures seamless management of staff profiles, documents, attendance, leave requests, recruitment workflows, and internal communications.

Beyond its operational features, the HR System offers powerful reporting capabilities that enable HR teams to track workforce data and generate insights for informed decision-making. Its user-friendly interface and integrated functionalities make it a vital tool for secure data management and efficient employee interactions.

Student Recruitment System (SRS)

The Student Recruitment System (SRS) is a vital platform that automates the entire student recruitment process, involving all relevant stakeholders in a standardized application evaluation flow. By centralizing key tasks, SRS ensures a seamless, transparent, and efficient approach to managing every aspect of student recruitment.

The system handles applicant tracking, document management, and onboarding, while also facilitating agency collaboration, promotional material distribution, interview scheduling, and academic staff assignments.

Equipped with robust reporting tools, SRS provides actionable insights into admissions trends, country-specific data, and registration figures. By integrating these diverse functionalities, SRS streamlines recruitment processes and supports CIU’s mission to attract top-tier students from around the world.

Dormitory Information System (DIS)

The Dormitory Information System (DIS) is a powerful tool for managing dormitories on the CIU campus. It streamlines the management of buildings, rooms, and reservations, while also assisting users with checking students in and out. With a comprehensive set of reports, DIS empowers users to analyze past data and plan effectively for future building reservations and related activities.

Decision Support System (DSS)

The Decision Support System (DSS) is a powerful platform designed to streamline data-driven decision-making and enhance operational efficiency across the university. To address the high volume of report requests, DSS makes key reports readily available to all relevant stakeholders, allowing them to access vital insights without relying on the software team for basic reports.

A key feature of DSS is its broad accessibility to unit heads, managers, departments, and top-level management across the university. Through a centralized unit authorization check, DSS ensures that reports are created and accessed within the scope of each user’s authorization, maintaining security and relevance.

The system includes Manual Reports, enabling users to create customized reports, such as scholarship analysis, with full traceability and role-based authorization for administration, accounting, and registrar management.

Additionally, the Available Reports section houses pre-generated reports, like the "Academic Development Report," offering easy access to recurring insights on academic and operational performance.

By combining customizable and pre-defined reporting capabilities, DSS provides a flexible, efficient tool to support CIU's strategic and operational goals.

Equipment Maintenance System (EMS)

The Equipment Maintenance System (EMS) streamlines and digitizes the traditional personnel maintenance request flow, offering significant advantages in efficiency and transparency. Integrated with the central budgeting system, EMS ensures seamless resource allocation and financial oversight.

When a maintenance request is submitted, it’s routed to the relevant building manager for approval. Once approved, the request moves to the responsible unit, where tasks are assigned to technicians. After completion, the request is closed, and costs are allocated to the unit’s budget.

EMS also provides detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment, and expenses, supporting data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. Its automation and integration make it a key tool for enhancing management across the university.

SMARTASK

The SMARTASK System is a task management solution designed to optimize workflow and enhance team collaboration. It enables users to efficiently manage, prioritize, and track their tasks, ensuring deadlines are met and responsibilities are clearly defined.

With an intuitive interface, users can easily view and filter tasks by priority, status, and due dates. Each task includes key details like title, deadlines, progress, and status, helping users stay organized and on top of their workload.

SMARTASK also facilitates communication by providing a dedicated space for task-related comments, ensuring team members stay updated on feedback and progress.

By streamlining task tracking and promoting effective collaboration, SMARTASK is a vital tool for boosting productivity and ensuring seamless team coordination across departments.
