Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara elected to MIDEKON Administrative Board

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture Prof. Dr. Cemil Atakara has been elected to serve on the Council of Deans of Faculties of Architecture. 

MİDEKON aims to produce solutions to management, education and research problems related to the basic disciplines of architecture (architecture, planning and design) within the faculties of architecture and other relevant faculties in Turkey. It is an important organization responsible for preparing and developing new strategies for the basic architecture fields, to prepare suggestions for laws and regulations in relevant fields when necessary and to follow up on their implementation.
Atakara, who was elected to the MIDEKON Board of Directors based on the decision taken at the MIDEKON general assembly held at the Middle East Technical University, will have the opportunity to contribute to the decisions to be taken on architectural education and developments in this field throughout Turkey with his vast experience and knowledge
Providing information about the election process, Atakara expressed his satisfaction in taking an active part in MİDEKON and said, “It is a great honor for me to contribute to architectural education in Turkey. With this position, I will focus on raising  standards of education and strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation by following the developments in the sector.”.
Atakara stated that MIDEKON aims to further strengthen the cooperation between universities in Turkey in the new period and noted that they will adopt a process that supports strategic steps to be taken in architecture education.
