International Accreditation for CIU Programs from AHPGS

Cyprus International University (CIU) successfully completed its evaluation by the Germany-based AHPGS (Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences).
Among the programs accredited by AHPGS, a member of ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) and an independent accreditation body based in Germany, are CIU's Turkish and English Law Bachelor's Programs at the Faculty of Law, the English Molecular Biology and Genetics Bachelor's Program at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the Turkish and English programs in Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences. With this accreditation, the Faculty of Law has received its first international approval, while the other programs have also been accredited by AHPGS as of 2025.

Prof. Dr. Emre Debreli, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at CIU, stated, "We are very proud that the Molecular Biology and Genetics Department in our Faculty of Arts and Sciences has successfully completed the accreditation process with the internationally respected Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) and received a 5-year accreditation certificate." He further emphasized, "This success is the most concrete evidence of our faculty's commitment to quality and academic excellence." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vural Yılmaz, Head of the Department of Basic and Human Sciences at CIU, said, “The accreditation of our department by AHPGS for 5 years is a strong indication that the quality of our education and teaching is internationally recognized.” He added, “This accreditation means that our students' diplomas will gain higher recognition and validity in the international arena. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all our academic and administrative staff, our students, and everyone who supported us throughout this process.”

Prof. Dr. Şölen Külahçı, Dean of the Faculty of Law at CIU, emphasized that this achievement is not only a matter of institutional prestige but also an important step in providing international recognition to students and graduates. Prof. Dr. Külahçı stated, "This accreditation shows that we offer a law education at European standards to our students. Our faculty trains future lawyers to be competitive not only at the national level but also at international platforms."
Prof. Dr. Hatice Sütçü, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at CIU, stated, "The Turkish and English programs in the Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation departments within our faculty have participated in the AHPGS Accreditation Commission's accreditation process, and all four programs were evaluated positively. Additionally, the Turkish and English Nursing programs at the School of Health Sciences are continuing their preparation for accreditation by AHPGS."
