CIU Ranked 601–800 in the 2026 THE World University Rankings
The 2026 World University Rankings, announced by Times Higher Education (THE), brought an important international achievement to Cyprus International University (CIU). In the 2026 evaluation, CIU secured a strong position among global universities, ranking in the 601–800 band.
The university particularly stood out for its high performance in research quality, becoming the number one university in Cyprus in terms of research. This result highlights CIU's leadership in the region in terms of scientific productivity, academic publication quality, citation impact, and research-focused collaborations. CIU noted that its strong laboratory infrastructure, international academic staff, and growing publication performance played a crucial role in this success.
CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi, in his statement, emphasized that being ranked in the 601–800 band in the THE 2026 World Rankings is not only a reflection of their current achievements but also an important motivation that strengthens their ambition for the future. He stated that efforts to maintain research-focused growth, expand international collaborations, and move up to higher ranks would continue.
