Distinguished designer and model-maker Cemal Özturk made an appearance at the Faculty of Fine Arts earlier this week to discuss his work and to offer career advice to students.

In his talk Mr Özturk gave information about his professional practice, which employs computer aided design processes to produce three-dimensional models of architectural designs, engineering projects and ships. His company, Ozturk Modelmakers, is based in Glasgow and recently produced scale models based on unrealised designs by the renowned Scottish designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Mr Özturk advised CIU students to be hardworking and consistent in their studies, but also to challenge the status quo in their chosen fields.
